July 22 2026 Eastern Interconnection Disturbance

On July 22, 2026 at around 07:56 EDT, a transmission line trip in Dominion territory resulted in approximately 3 GW of datacenter load loss in northern Virginia. The disturbance was observed by the two KGRID waveform measurement units in the region.
