by Arnada Engineering

A new version of Kestrel EMT and KPlot has been published. Download Kestrel EMT and KPlot for free here.

With this release we also put together a video tutorial on Automating EMT Study Plots Using KPlot. Check it out! The video reviews core KPlot features and how to generate plots automatically using the KPlotCLI command line tool.

Kestrel EMT

  • Added Limit block
  • Added Real Pole block
  • Added configurable freeze, reset, and a limiter to the Integrator block
  • Improved UI hit detection; this makes it easier to select components in crowded schematics, and primarily affects components like the Arithmetic or Comment block which can have a large amount of blank space around them.
  • Fixed Name/Parameter text clipping issue that would occur when the text exceeded the width of the block.
  • General styling and interface improvements.
  • Added 3LG and SLG fault option to the Multi-Case runner.
  • Added component search filter box to the Component Picker.
  • Added new “Node Tag” component. This component combines the functionality of the Node Name and Monitor Node blocks and therefore replaces them.
  • Using the Node Tag component, multiple nodes can be assigned the same name, effectively joining them without a wire. This applies for both Circuit nodes and Math nodes.
  • Added “3-Ø Wye” Phases option to the Voltage Source, Current Source, and Programmable Source blocks.
  • Added “3-Ø Clarke” Phases option (3 phase in 1 phase out) and Line to Line scaling option to the RMS block.

KPlot

  • Fixed bug where PSCAD .inf files would not be loaded if one of the channel descriptions contained spaces.
  • Added search/filter box for all plot types.
  • Added command line version of KPlot: KPlotCLI.exe, which includes the option “genplot” to generate plots from a plot definition file. See the KPlot documentation for more information.
